Summertime and the Livings Easy

My summer has officially started, and boy, am I ever ready! It was long but satisfying semester. I changed my major this semester; i'm aiming for an AA in Psychology. I'll graduate next spring and right now i'm looking at transfer options because I want to get my BA in Psychology. So far my only plans for this summer are OBX for 2 weeks(in 10 days!) and then just hanging with friends and family and working. So if you want to do anything this summer, hit me up! I'll be here in good 'ol Harford County :)

Spring Break

I love Spring Break. It's very relaxing for me. I push all my homework off until the weekend, and while that may not be the best thing to do, I do it anyway :) I'm not the only one either, haha. Anyway...i'm going to Ocean City tomorrow with my dad. I'm super excited. And then we're staying overnight at my grandmothers....also super excited for that, too! I will be sad when Spring break is over, but every week brings me closer to the end of the semester, and then it's summer! Hooray! That's all for now....just wanted to leave a quick note and some pictures i've taken recently.

Adios!

It's been a long time...

It has indeed been a long time since I have written! I suppose I should do some filling. My fall semester went well. I passed all my classes. Just finished taking a winter course, and passed that as well. Spring semester starts next week....busy, busy, busy! I am taking 5 classes this spring for a total of 15 credits! I am going to have no life, haha.

Work is going great as well. The month of December was ridiculously busy and I worked a TON. Since Christmas ended, i've barely worked at all! Mainly because January is such a slow month for us. Hopefully i'll start picking up a few more hours than i've been working. I really do love my job and feel really blessed that God gave it to me =)

My social life is...well...not altogether existant. I focus very hard on my schoolwork, which leaves me little time for socializing. My poor Shawn =) But he is busy this semester as well, so we will have to try extra hard to spend time together! It will be 1 year for us on January 30th =) And what an amazing year it has been! We've had great times and bad times...but we always came through anything and everything together. I love that boy. I really do.

Well, I think that's all for now! Maybe it won't be what, 3? 4 months? till I write again =)

Au Revoir!

Time for Fall.....

Fall is starting to settle in around here. Some of the trees are starting to change and the weather has cooled off. It's also a bit windy around here too! School is going well....I have amazing and hilarious teachers, so that makes going to school more enjoyable =) Work is going well, too! I love my job...i have great co-workers, bosses, etc. All in all, life is going pretty great right now. I'm extremely busy and hardly ever home, but.....it makes me appreciate my home and down time alot more!

Last week of summer...

This is my last week of summer. School starts next week...joy =p I'm kind of looking forward to it, but...kind of not. Today my parents and I went antiquing in Havre de Grace. I got an old, silver, hairbrush and a book: a 1927 version of Black Beauty! It's really cool! I didn't like antiquing when I was younger; now I love looking through the rows and boxes of old things. So much cool stuff!
Last week was an amazing week for me. On Monday I had an interview at Toys R Us. tuesday I was called back to come back to the store to sign for a background check. And on Thursday I was called to be told that my background check had back, I was cleared for hiring, and they wanted to set me up for orientation! God is so good! I have been looking for another job on and off since I lost my other one back in December. I have orientation tomorrow, August 25, at 1pm =) I'm so excited!! I think i'm going to have fun working there!
I think that's all for now....Hasta la vista!

Trouble...

That's what i'm having with this blog. I realized I hadn't updated for almost month, and thought I should. But update on what? And does anyone even read this? Or am I talking to myself?*sigh* I'm not sure. I guess the biggest thing I could update is that I changed my major, and am much more happy with this choice. I'm now and English major. Of course, if I could just go travel, maybe live in Trinidad for a while without having to worry about cost or anything, I would drop everything and go. I've always thought it would be neat to go backpacking across Europe, and prayerwalk the entire time as well. Who knows what amazing oppourtunities God has waiting for us? Sometimes I feel like I wouldn't mind sitting around her for 2 years, working on a little Associates degree...but then again, I have no strong tie or feeling towards school, and I know I could really just drop it and be fine. But whatever. This is what i'm doing for now with my life.

Scary Movies

I love scary movies, absolutely love them! I get that from my mother =] I especially enjoy watching them with family or friends, ones who have not see them. I constantly look at them to see their facial expressions, and I even giggle when I think of what's coming up next that I know they will scream at! Take tonight for example. I took "The Uninvited" over to my cousin Janelle's hosue, and the two of us, along with Janelle's friend Barbie and my cousin Sarah watched it together. It started out with me and Janelle on one couch, and Sarah and Barbie on the other. But at one intense part, Sarah jumps up from her couch and races over to Janelle and I, with BArbie following her. It was so funny for me to see these three women, all in or aroud their 30's, scared so bad they decided we all needed to be together! hahaha, and we may be doing it again Saturday night! I love my cousins so much =] And scary movies, too!!

Public Display of Affection

PDA.....we hear about it all the time, see it all the time. And while it's cool for others, it's not so cool for me. Now, you may be sitting there thinking, "Wait a mintue, I thought she had a boyfriend?!" The answer would be yes, I do. And while I enjoy holding hands and snuggling, and getting an occasional kiss on the side of my head, i'm not one of those people who have no problem displaying all kinds of affection publicly. And here is why:
When you're dating someone, you never know what can happen. And while you may be certain that you will spend the rest of your life with them, that might not be God's plan for you. You have no idea what the future holds for you in your dating life. And it makes me sad to see people who give so much of themselves away while dating. Now, i'm not talking about giving their whole selves away. But when you think about people who date a new person constantly, you have to wonder...how many times did they kiss? How far did they go without stopping before having sex? Stuff of that nature. And while you may think kissing is no big deal, it is. At least to me it is. Like I said before, you have aboslutely no clue if the person you are dating, or will date, will become your future husband/wife. But I know that when I am engaged, I know that that will be the man that God has chosen for me to spend the rest of my life with. And I would much rather lavish all my love and affection on my fiance/husband, than give half of it away beforehand. I want to keep myself as clean and as pure as I possibly can(without overdoing it, or becoming obssesed with it) so that when I give myself to the godly man I know God has waiting for me, he will know how much I truly love him. One of my favorite authors described this in one of her books. The way she put it, was something like this:
When you picture your future, your wedding night, picture yourself as a present that you will be giving to your husband to open. Now, would you want to be a present whos' paper has been torn and some of it ripped off, leaving it missing pieces? I hope your answer is no. I hope that you want to be the kind of present that is still wrapped up, just waiting to be opened by their one and only true love. When I read that, my eyes were opened. I read it a long time ago, but it's stuck with me. I WANT to be that kind of present. I want to be completely whole for my true love. I know I wouldn't want to receive a ripped/torn present. So why should I give any less? This was just floating through my head tonight, and I felt compelled to share it =]

In the grand 'ol summertime....

Finally! My summer has arrived!!! My first year of college is behind me, and even though I was only part time, it still took some getting used to, and I was still stressed, haha. I finished out my year with an A in english, a B in math, and an A in tennis. Not too shabby, eh? And, since the math was a transitional math, according to my college I have a 4.0 GPA because transitional classes don't count towards your majoy. Whatever. I'm just happy I passed all my classes!!
And now onto summer...in 4 days I head to the Outer Banks with my family and Shawn's! The day after we get back I turn 18 =] After that it's probably more job hunting and hanging out with friends and family. VBS is the last week in June and i'm helping with Arts and Crafts! Trinidad is in the last week of July....and so far that's all I have planned!

I love the season called summer =]

Tennis, Family and Allergies

Summer>>>>>>>>>>>

Today was my last tennis class. I've really come to love tennis and 7 weeks was not enough! It didn't even seem like a class which was great! It misted the entire time this morning, which got pretty annoying after a while. After my class ended, I head over to my cousin Janelle's, for a brunch with female family members =] It was quite enjoyable, and I got to spend some quality time with little Summer(who will be 6 months old on 5/20!!)

My allergies are really acting up today; my eyes are swollen half shurt and my throat and ears are itching like crazy. I need to be studying for my math final(5/19) but i'm so distracted by my allergies i'm having to put it off =/ Please pray that I do well and pass my final!!! And pray that my allergies get better too =]

Recent things....

Life recently has been pretty good! This week starts my finals week; please pray for me!!! I especially need prayer for my math final, which will be May 19th. I just want to pass!!!!

Yesterday(Mothers Day)was very fun. We gave my mom her gifts before we went to church, and then after church my grandfather treated us all out to lunch at Red Lobster; yummy!! Then later that afternoon my dad and I went out to a couple different places to take photos and such. We also witnessed an accident while sitting at a light; we came back to be witnesses which thankfully didn't take long at all!

All in all a very good weekend =]

The end is drawing near....

Only a few more classes until the semester is over!! I will be sooo happy when I am done!! The end cannot come soon enough. I am more ready for summer than I think I ever have been. Schoolwork is piling up now, everything getting crammed in and making me stressed out. Ah, such is life. I'm really enjoying my tennis class on saturday mornings; it's really fun! The weather is getting warmer and warmer, which makes me very happy! I think that's all for this update. Ciao!

Just a note....

Not much has been going on lately. School is stressing me out; what else is new? I'm so glad that I don't have to wear coats like, hardly ever anymore. Had a fun time visiting my grandparents today....and my cousin Joy was there as well! An added bonus! She's so funny....makes me laugh continuously, it's great. Got my easter outfit all together finally. Umm.... singing at the Good Friday afternoon service at church tomorrow, then hanging out with Shawn doing who knows what. I think that's all for now. not very exciting, but oh well.
~Ciao!~

Warm weather, hurry up!!

I am in desperate need of warm weather!!! I'm so glad it's spring tomorrow....and that the temperatures around her are slowly, but surely rising! Just like it says in the bible, "there is a time for everything..." and now it's time for spring! Baby animals, warmth, the smell of fresh cut grass, flowers, leaves coming back to the trees, no more coats, and the end of school drawing nearer.

In April my 3rd class starts....p.e. Im taking Beginning Tennis....sounded fun, and it's only 7 classes!! whoo hoo!! Im also on Spring break this week....most college students plan something for their spring break...not me =p Oh well...im sure i'll find plenty to do. Plus, I do have some homework...blech. Haha

Okay, that's all for now! Ciao!

Life.....currently

Almost a month since my last post. I've been waiting for something exciting to write about.....oh well. I guess I'll just update you on life for me right now. Let's see.....I started my second semester at school. Math 017, English 101, and Beginning Tennis, which starts in April. School's going good....my teachers are both good....I like my math teacher the best though. My english teacher says "like" almost every other word. Okay, maybe not that much, but it sure feels like it! Oh yeah...I declared my major....music! Going for an Associate of Arts degree in Music.
Umm....I am not working....got laid off in December and haven't gotten another job. Though I may not get one because I won't be here most of the summer anyway! This summer I will be going overseas to live in Trinidad for a month and a half with our missionaries, Gary and Brenda Hunter. I'm extremely excited about this amazing opportunity that God has placed in my life.My mom is coming down with only child syndrome though...she asks me at least once a week if i'm sure that I want to go. I assure her every time the I do indeed want to go =] She loves me.....can't complain about that!! =]
Hmm...what else....I have a boyfriend. Shawn deWit. we actually dated over a year ago...it wasn't the right time....so I broke it off. Broke his heart...but we slowly became the best of friends...and are now dating again. NOW is the right time. Valentines day was fun this year. Went to dinner at Applebees and then went to see the movie "The Uninvited." It was amazing......great psychological twist at the end.Has a bit of language in it that was not needed....but other than that....I recommend you go see it!
Hmm...i'm not sure what else to write about. Hmm......my current tv obsessions are NCIS and Criminal Minds. Current book obsession is the Twilight series. I think i've become more obsessed with Music since I became a music major too. I think that's all for now.....didn't expect to write this much...well...to write at all actually. But I love to write and once I start it's hard to stop. But I am stopping. Ciao for now ;-)

Hello, Hello, Hello

I can't believe it's 2009 already! The years seem to go by faster and faster all the time. But then that's like age. I'll be 18 in June, and I really can't believe it. There are so many things in life that I feel ready for, but at the same time I know that i'm really not. It's a strange feeling. Growing up, I mean. Somewhere in just this past year, I seem to have crossed that invisible line. You know, the one you cross when you grow up, become an adult. Even though i'm not legally an adult yet, I feel as though I am inside. I know i'm not a child anymore, and while that scares me a little, it also excites me! I cannot wait to see what God has in store for me. But I also know it's important to be patient and take it one step, one day, at a time. I need to learn and remember that everything won't happen on my time. It has to be on God's time. I will never stop learning. And it amazes me <3

Another year gone.....

Another year has gone. And boy has it been a great one! So many things have happened, I can't even name them all. But it was a fantastic year for me. I have changed so much, and learned so much as well. I still can't believe it's 2009; I'll be 18 this year! I made great friends this year, and lsot some, but that's life, right? =] I hope this year will be as great as last year!

Williamsburg

So, this past weekend my parents and I went down to Colonial Williamsburg for the Grand Illumination. It was INSANE. We got there Friday and stayed at the coolest little resort. We ate at Christiana Cambells that night and oh man. The food was amazing, as always. Saturday we walked around a whole lot, and Sunday too. And when we came back Sunday night for the Grand Illumination, it..was...packed! And boy, do I mean PACKED. There was hardly any walking room. You had to shove your way through the streets. And we finally made it to this back street behind the Capitol when they started the fireworks. and boy, those Fireworks were totally awesome! Some of the best I have ever seen! Ciao until next time!
