Scary Movies

I love scary movies, absolutely love them! I get that from my mother =] I especially enjoy watching them with family or friends, ones who have not see them. I constantly look at them to see their facial expressions, and I even giggle when I think of what's coming up next that I know they will scream at! Take tonight for example. I took "The Uninvited" over to my cousin Janelle's hosue, and the two of us, along with Janelle's friend Barbie and my cousin Sarah watched it together. It started out with me and Janelle on one couch, and Sarah and Barbie on the other. But at one intense part, Sarah jumps up from her couch and races over to Janelle and I, with BArbie following her. It was so funny for me to see these three women, all in or aroud their 30's, scared so bad they decided we all needed to be together! hahaha, and we may be doing it again Saturday night! I love my cousins so much =] And scary movies, too!!

Public Display of Affection

PDA.....we hear about it all the time, see it all the time. And while it's cool for others, it's not so cool for me. Now, you may be sitting there thinking, "Wait a mintue, I thought she had a boyfriend?!" The answer would be yes, I do. And while I enjoy holding hands and snuggling, and getting an occasional kiss on the side of my head, i'm not one of those people who have no problem displaying all kinds of affection publicly. And here is why:
When you're dating someone, you never know what can happen. And while you may be certain that you will spend the rest of your life with them, that might not be God's plan for you. You have no idea what the future holds for you in your dating life. And it makes me sad to see people who give so much of themselves away while dating. Now, i'm not talking about giving their whole selves away. But when you think about people who date a new person constantly, you have to wonder...how many times did they kiss? How far did they go without stopping before having sex? Stuff of that nature. And while you may think kissing is no big deal, it is. At least to me it is. Like I said before, you have aboslutely no clue if the person you are dating, or will date, will become your future husband/wife. But I know that when I am engaged, I know that that will be the man that God has chosen for me to spend the rest of my life with. And I would much rather lavish all my love and affection on my fiance/husband, than give half of it away beforehand. I want to keep myself as clean and as pure as I possibly can(without overdoing it, or becoming obssesed with it) so that when I give myself to the godly man I know God has waiting for me, he will know how much I truly love him. One of my favorite authors described this in one of her books. The way she put it, was something like this:
When you picture your future, your wedding night, picture yourself as a present that you will be giving to your husband to open. Now, would you want to be a present whos' paper has been torn and some of it ripped off, leaving it missing pieces? I hope your answer is no. I hope that you want to be the kind of present that is still wrapped up, just waiting to be opened by their one and only true love. When I read that, my eyes were opened. I read it a long time ago, but it's stuck with me. I WANT to be that kind of present. I want to be completely whole for my true love. I know I wouldn't want to receive a ripped/torn present. So why should I give any less? This was just floating through my head tonight, and I felt compelled to share it =]

In the grand 'ol summertime....

Finally! My summer has arrived!!! My first year of college is behind me, and even though I was only part time, it still took some getting used to, and I was still stressed, haha. I finished out my year with an A in english, a B in math, and an A in tennis. Not too shabby, eh? And, since the math was a transitional math, according to my college I have a 4.0 GPA because transitional classes don't count towards your majoy. Whatever. I'm just happy I passed all my classes!!
And now onto summer...in 4 days I head to the Outer Banks with my family and Shawn's! The day after we get back I turn 18 =] After that it's probably more job hunting and hanging out with friends and family. VBS is the last week in June and i'm helping with Arts and Crafts! Trinidad is in the last week of July....and so far that's all I have planned!

I love the season called summer =]

Tennis, Family and Allergies

Summer>>>>>>>>>>>

Today was my last tennis class. I've really come to love tennis and 7 weeks was not enough! It didn't even seem like a class which was great! It misted the entire time this morning, which got pretty annoying after a while. After my class ended, I head over to my cousin Janelle's, for a brunch with female family members =] It was quite enjoyable, and I got to spend some quality time with little Summer(who will be 6 months old on 5/20!!)

My allergies are really acting up today; my eyes are swollen half shurt and my throat and ears are itching like crazy. I need to be studying for my math final(5/19) but i'm so distracted by my allergies i'm having to put it off =/ Please pray that I do well and pass my final!!! And pray that my allergies get better too =]

Recent things....

Life recently has been pretty good! This week starts my finals week; please pray for me!!! I especially need prayer for my math final, which will be May 19th. I just want to pass!!!!

Yesterday(Mothers Day)was very fun. We gave my mom her gifts before we went to church, and then after church my grandfather treated us all out to lunch at Red Lobster; yummy!! Then later that afternoon my dad and I went out to a couple different places to take photos and such. We also witnessed an accident while sitting at a light; we came back to be witnesses which thankfully didn't take long at all!

All in all a very good weekend =]

The end is drawing near....

Only a few more classes until the semester is over!! I will be sooo happy when I am done!! The end cannot come soon enough. I am more ready for summer than I think I ever have been. Schoolwork is piling up now, everything getting crammed in and making me stressed out. Ah, such is life. I'm really enjoying my tennis class on saturday mornings; it's really fun! The weather is getting warmer and warmer, which makes me very happy! I think that's all for this update. Ciao!

Just a note....

Not much has been going on lately. School is stressing me out; what else is new? I'm so glad that I don't have to wear coats like, hardly ever anymore. Had a fun time visiting my grandparents today....and my cousin Joy was there as well! An added bonus! She's so funny....makes me laugh continuously, it's great. Got my easter outfit all together finally. Umm.... singing at the Good Friday afternoon service at church tomorrow, then hanging out with Shawn doing who knows what. I think that's all for now. not very exciting, but oh well.
~Ciao!~
